Whirlwind Week Wrap Up

Friday, August 31, 2012

This week has been crazy for our little family.

It started with a move to a bigger apartment, and thankfully, is ending with a long holiday weekend! In between the hubs had his first week "on his own" at a new job, and we did a lot of unpacking and organizing. The apartment projects will continue this weekend, and hopefully we'll get around to starting to unpack our little lady's room, too!

I heard this quote earlier in the week, and it immediately made me think of Dave. So, babe, today's quote is just for you!

32 Weeks

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Well, we survived the move, everyone! Dave is out finishing up the last few trips from the old apartment, so I thought I'd take this time to put my feet up and write up a quick post.

The move was mostly uneventful, until we arrived at our new apartment, to find out the AC was shot, we had no hot water (but I'm not complaining, this is the one time a cold shower actually felt great), and almost thought our dishwasher didn't work. Thankfully, the AC man came out quickly and replaced the fan, showed us that the water heater was turned way down from the previous tenants to "conserve", and a light switch controls the power to the dishwasher. Oh the quirks of a new apartment!

How far along? 32 weeks.
Total weight gain? Somewhere in the vicinity of 28 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Absolutely!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Hopefully tonight I'll sleep really well. I was anxious about the move Friday, and woke up at 3 am Saturday morning! Last night, Dave worked, and I was really sore from the move, so didn't exactly sleep well the first night in the new digs.
Best moment this week? Getting in the new apartment, and having the actual moving part in our past.
Miss anything? Not really.
Movement? Lots of movement. I think she likes yogurt. Whenever I have my afternoon snack before getting on the train home, she's always dancing around in there :)
Food cravings? I'm totally craving blueberry pie after seeing it on the menu at Dave's new work!
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Well, let's just say my feet are women's size nine pillows ...
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Half on normally. Today, all off. After a day of moving, and a day of unpacking, my extremities are what you might call large.
Happy or moody most of the time? I try and keep a positive attitude though this weekend, I will say, has been a challenge. Thankfully it's Sunday, which means back to a "normal" routine soon!
Looking forward to? A long weekend next weekend, and hopefully unpacking Noelle's room!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. As we get settled, and closer to the finish line, I'll do my best to keep up the posting :)

30 Weeks

Saturday, August 11, 2012

Three quarters of this pregnancy is behind us, and the anxiety is starting to set in. Things are still going very well overall. Our move is coming up in two weeks, and this is our last weekend in our current apartment. Next weekend we'll be in Michigan so that really eliminates a lot of valuable packing/organizing/cleaning time. We're trying to get as much done this weekend as we can, to make the week leading up to the move a bit easier.

After a full morning today though (Land of Nod trip, Target, dentist, and packing) I'm ready to put my feet up and relax for a bit. So, here it is, the 30 week report!

How far along? 30
Total weight gain? 23-25 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Absolutely!
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep? Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I'm not taking the sleeping for granted, and am looking at the "don't" as practice!
Best moment this week? It's not a personal best moment, but we were very excited when we got the news that two of our friends' baby girls were born on the same day this week. Yay for lots of little ladies!
Miss anything? Not really.
Movement? Lots of movement. Mostly at night time, or when Dave comes home from work in the middle of the night. He likes to talk to her and she either really likes it, or really hates it. We're not sure.
Food cravings? Yesterday I just had to have a Coke.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No.
Labor signs? No.
Symptoms? Starting to have a bit of reflux, and I hate Tums (don't tell me that you don't think they taste like chalk...), so feel that I am in quite the predicament.
Belly Button in or out? In.
Wedding rings on or off? Half on. The engagement ring is resting peacefully in my jewelry box.
Happy or moody most of the time? Mostly happy, though a bit anxious and frazzled feeling lately.
Looking forward to? Heading to Michigan this coming weekend and getting to spend time with friends and family.

The next few weeks are going to be really crazy, but I'll try to keep updating!
